Helping EVERYONE touched by cancer live healthy and strong, using fitness – physical, nutritional and emotional – as the foundation for every day.
Halloween Party – Jewelry Fundraiser: On Thursday, October 29th so many great folks turned out to benefit
Surviving Strong. It was a fun event for everyone. The kids were entertained by live music, face painting, games and activities! Meanwhile the grown-up had an opportunity to chat, snack and browse the wonderful jewelry from Premier.
As the night drew to a close, we could look back on an evening of laughter, smiles and a huge fundraising success for our organization: we raised over $1,000 in cash and merchandise! Thank you all!
A special thank you goes out to our member volunteers without whom the event would not have been such a smashing success – thank you Elaine, Amy and Stacy. Thank you
to our volunteer face-painting artist, Marilyn (who you will be learning about as she is also one AMAZING swim instructor.) Thank you to our volunteer musician, Juli, wh
o with guitar and song managed to entertain so many children at one time!

NY Metro Danskin Womens Triathlon: On September 12-13, 2009 over a thousand athletes coverged at the Jersey shore for the Danskin triathlon. Surviving Strong had a great showing at the expo - an opportunity to share information about our group, meet amazing cancer survivors, network with potential coaches and fundraise. Many thanks go out to the volunteers that came to man the booth:

Danskin Triathlon Finishers: Congratulations go out to all of the participants at the Danskin Women's Triathlon. It was a gorgeous day - perfect for a swim in the bay, bike along the shore and a run through a historic coast guard base. Surviving Strong had a small but impressive team participating and they all did a fantastic job. Danskin also honored the numerous survivors participating in the race, but having a distinct survivors wave. A huge cheers goes out to Surviving Strong founder, Susan, for placing first amongst survivors. Standing next to her on the podium and taking second is three time survivor Sharon. Absolutely amazing and a great show of the stregnth and resolve!
